Telecom IPTV and network multiplexing

This article uses the devices F4600T and SK-WR6640X, but other devices should also be able to refer to it.

Step 0: Obtain the Super Password for the Optical Modem#

Refer to the tutorial to obtain the super password for the optical modem.

Step 1: Obtain the IPTV Interface Information on the Optical Modem#

Under Status, find the "Connection Name" for iTV in the Status Overview
Go to Network, then Network Settings - Network Connections, select the connection name found above in the Connection Name field, and record the VLAN Mode, VlanID, and 802.1p value. Save for later use.

Step 2: Set VLAN Binding#

Based on the previous step, click on VLAN Binding on the left side and perform the following operations:

Select
Select the port for the Ethernet cable
Enter the VLAN obtained in the previous step (you can also enter any value as long as it matches later)
Enter the corresponding WAN connection name
Don't forget to save

Step 3: Set up the Router#

Connect the router to the Ethernet port selected in the previous step, for example, in my case, it is port 3. Log in and configure it. I will use my current device, the SK-WR6640X, as an example.

Select Network Settings, go to IPTV configuration, enable it, set the mode to bridge mode, select the port for the set-top box, and set the VLAN Mode, VLAN ID, and 802.1p to the values obtained/set above. Confirm the settings.
